After returning to his regularly scheduled life, Emory was reunited with Nate (in a highly improbable fashion), and the two danced around each other in friendship, not letting it go further, even though they already slept together in Thailand!!!. I don't mind a slow burn, but this seemed very odd and unreasonable.
Emory infuriated me at times, and I wanted him to just f*cking grow a pair! Even taking into account that he was dealing with a lot, his lack of action continued past the point I was willing to let it slide.
All that said, I did enjoy the story. I loved the tidbits of the guys exploring Thailand and Chicago. Emory and Nate are a fun pair, and I'm glad that they finally reached their happy together.

The city and settings within are almost characters themselves. Narcotics officer Vince is an engaging narrator, broken on the inside as well as out after an on-the-job injury has taken him out of the field. He meets and is inexplicably drawn to Rowen, a possible witness in a drug related killing. As Rowan reveals his past and his own constant struggle, the two men end up finding solace and support in each other.

I enjoyed the slow reveal of what happened in Tim's past and the ongoing physical, emotional and social effects.
So many moments to love:
Jack must have had the day off because he was swimming in the deserted pool as I wearily passed the courtyard on the way to my apartment. I deliberately ignored the sight of his lean brown body cutting through the aqua water, glistening powerful arms dipping slow and steady in perfect rhythm with the strong kick of his long, tanned legs.
I was going to have to work on my ignoring technique.

Jonah is awkward in such an adorable way and Sebastian is awesomely sweet. These boys had me laughing and smiling in a big way. Thanks, Heidi, for a fantastic story!

I attempted to reach through my kindle to squish Brandon into a hug. Repeatedly. I was brought back to adventurous summer trips from my past and wanted to ride along in the Sunseeker to CastieCon right along with them. Just delightful!

I loved it. The characters are real and grow through their hardships. It's clever, poignant and beautifully written. I wish more people new about this book!

The characters are well done and I especially enjoyed the early parts of the book when the guys are getting to know each other. They each have past experiences that make it hard to believe that the other is interested, but I felt the problem toward the end was a bit overdone. Plenty of hot smexy times in this one, too.
